Day 01Â : EUROPE - DELHI
International flight to Delhi
Day 02: Flight Delhi - Kathmandu Arrival in Kathmandu
Arrival at Delhi airport, welcome by our local correspondent and transfer to the flight to Kathmandu.
Arrival at Kathmandu airport; transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, visit Patan (or Lalitpur) "City of Beauty", the oldest city in the valley. Then, visit the Tibetan Refugee Camp, there since 1960 with its speciality of carpets.
Day 03: Kathmandu - Kirtipur
In the morning, visit the temple of Pashupatinah, dedicated to Shiva. Located on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River 5 km east of Kathmandu, famous for its "red roof" architecture and golden doors. Continue to the colossal stupa of Bodnath. Lunch at a restaurant in BABAR MAHAL REVISITED, with typical architecture of the Rana period. In the afternoon, visit of the ancient village of Kirtipur installed on a hill. Walk through the narrow streets. Weaving is the main craft, then visit the beautiful Bagh Bhaira temple, venerated by both Hindus and Buddhists, and whose sacred precinct is crowded with dozens of small shrines. Free time to stroll in the alleys.
Day 04 : Kathmandu - Dhulikel (32 Km / 1h30m)
Morning drive to Bhaktapur, undoubtedly the most beautiful city of the Kathmandu valley. Founded in the 9th century, its construction follows the plan of a magic mandala whose three temples form the pivot. Then, continuation towards Panauti, village in ruins a short time ago and rebuilt with the assistance of the French government. Very beautiful examples of temples with remarkable sculptures in turned wood. Then, departure towards Dhulikhel, pretty village on a hill, surrounded by terraces with splendid views on the central Himalayas. The place is famous for its sunrises and sunsets. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 05: Dhulikel - Chitwan (210 Km / 6h30-7h)
Early departure for the prestigious National Park of Chitwan, about 1000 km ², home of the Asian rhinoceros, leopards, and the royal Bengal tiger, among the most spectacular of the multiple species present. Arrival and installation then lunch at the hotel. Discovery of a nearby village of the Tharu minority native to the region. Then presentation of the national park, its history, its fauna and flora by a naturalist guide, excellent introduction to your discovery of the park planned for the next day. Dinner overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 06 : Chitwan
Morning of exploration of the jungle which covers the park on vast areas. It is on the back of an elephant (about 2 hours), the most ecological means of transport, respectful of the environment that you will be able to observe the wild life: deer, monkeys, bears, leopards, wild elephants and especially the last and rare white rhinoceros of Asia. After this hike in the wilderness, visit the elephant stable with a naturalist guide. Lunch. Then walk in the park to observe the many species of birds that hide in the lush vegetation. Return to the Lodge. In the evening, a presentation of dances of the Tharu minority. Dinner at the lodge. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 07: Chitwan - Pokhra (165 Km / 5h - 5h30)
Drive to Pokhara, its emerald lake and the nearby snowy peaks reflected in it. Of any beauty. Transfer to the hotel and end of the day free. Possible stroll along the lake Phewa, with its very lively shopping street (souvenirs, "restaurants").
Day 08 : Pokhra
Very early in the morning, ascension in 15 min by car of the mountain Sarangkote (1590m) to attend an extraordinary spectacle: the sunrise on Annapurna. Then a 1 hour boat ride on the Phewa lake. Visit of Pokhara: Davi Falls, the old bazaar and the Bindyabasini temple. Afternoon visit to the GORKHA museum. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 09: Pokhra - Kathmandu (210 Km / 6h30 to 7h)
After breakfast, drive to Kathmandu. Once there, visit the old city with the Durbar Square and its multiple temples. You will then go up to the stupa of Swayambhunath at 77 meters above the ground: ideal to benefit from a panorama on the city of Kathmandu.
Day 10: Departure from Kathmandu
Transfer to the airport for the flight to your destination.
